Fountain Corporation signs MoU’s with Max-Planck Society and Max-Planck Institute

 


Shenzhen Fountain Corporation (Stockcode 000005.SZX) (SFC) has signed two MoU’s with the Max-Planck Society for the Advancement of Science e.V. (MPG) and a Max-Planck Institute under MPG on September 14, 2017.?

The MoU’s include a License MoU which has been signed with Max-Planck Innovation GmbH (MI) and a Cooperation MoU which has been signed with the Max-Planck Institute for Colloids and Interfaces (MPIKG)

Both MoU’s aim for a close cooperation between SFC, MPG and MPIKG in the field of environmental technologies. The Hydothermal Carbonization technology (HTC) re-discovered by Prof. Dr. Markus Antonietti is a chemical process for the production of lignite coal substitutes, Synthgas, liquid oil precursors and humus from Biomass.

 

The process which mimics the natural carbonization process in several hours instead of 50,000 to 50 million years, has been researched by Friedrich Bergius and has been first described in 1913.


The aim of the cooperation is to further develop the HTC technology with MPG and MPIKG and achieve industrial scale.?


A first pilot plant, developed in Germany is planned to be put into operation in Shenzhen, China.?


SFC will invest EUR 2.5 million for the development and will acquire an exclusive license for the HTC technology from MPG.


MPIKG will further refine the process to achieve highly efficient process parameters for the material and energetic utilization of wastewater sludge and biomass waste.


Furthermore, MPIKG will improve the HTC process to increase the application spectra of the HTC end products (such as soil amendments, applications in wastewater treatment and high value carbon materials) and adjust the technology in such a way that the desired raw materials including wastewaters with high Chemical Oxygen Demand, sludge and solid biomass wastes as well as the desired end products are being optimized.
